The Voelker Lakes are legendary in Marquette County and the main lake is totally private. Voelker Lake is a 20 plus acre private lake surrounded by beautiful mixed woods of oak, aspen, and old growth pine. There is a hunting cabin on the acreage but the water frontage is undeveloped and ready for a new owner to create a north woods retreat. One setting on the main lake is perfect for a log cabin lodge on the water's edge where the access road ends. There is another point nearby that would be another excellent site. The lake is reputed to have been a trophy trout lake in the past. The current lake and fish status is unknown but if looks count, this one looks great. The main lake is surrounded by 200 acres of excellent hunting woodlands. Adjoining the main lake with these 200 acres is a tract of 160 acres containing a private pond and frontage on East Voelker Lake. While contiguous, this part of the tract has its' own road system winding through ridges of maple and oak. The private pond could also make a nice fishery if stocked. Additionally there is frontage on a small stream. This tract is remote and off the grid but has insurable access directly from a county road making it feasible for many recreation activities and an off grid cabin or home. As we all know, private lakes on the market are hard to find and with savvy investors creating real estate holdings this is one you may want to check out.
