With over 200 miles of lakeshore on Lake Michigan, there are countless water recreational activities to enjoy here. Much of Delta County lies within the Hiawatha National Forest, which provides for some of the best camping and hiking opportunities in the Upper Peninsula. Anyone interested in the history of the U.P should check out the Fayette Historical Town in Garden. This once flourishing, industrial town now has 20 museum structures that you can walk through and explore. Something that Delta County is perhaps most noted for is for hosting the UP State Fair. The fair is usually held in August and is a week long full of fun activities. The week-long festivities include concerts, carnival rides, animal exhibits, car show, circus, demo derby and much more. 

Also within Delta County are many different rivers, lakes and bays where the fishing is outstanding! Bluegill, perch, bass and walleye can all be widely found throughout the area. In terms of occupational opportunities, there are a variety of industries here. Delta County’s largest employers are the Hannahville Indian Community, Bay de Noc Community College, Billerud Paper Mill and OSF Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Group. With a plethora of different industries in the area, there is truly an opportunity here for everyone.
